The Recreation Attendant is accountable for providing recreation and leisure activities as scheduled and directed by a Recreation Therapist. The Recreation Attendant will work to ensure the continued organization and smooth running of new and ongoing programs and activities in accordance with Bethany Care Society’s philosophy, objectives and standards. Driving resident passenger buses required.
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma (or equivalent), a valid First Aid Certificate, and a class 4 driver’s license. The Recreation Attendant will have at least one year previous work experience in a recreation setting and will demonstrate knowledge of recreation and leisure program modalities. Prior experience working with seniors with dementia in a long term care facility is an asset. The Recreation Attendant must demonstrate good oral and written communication and have the ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
