The POT WASHER will work in, and support the functions of the Food & Nutrition Services department by ensuring all cooking pots & pans are regularly cleaned and sanitized.
Your duties will mainly consist of frequent transporting of pots & pans, to/from the kitchen and Resident serving and eating areas. You will manually wash pots & pans in the dish-room after each Resident meal service.
The successful candidate will possess an excellent knowledge of cleaning & sanitization practices, and can meet the regular physical requirements of the job . A successful applicant will work in an efficient and safe manner, in keeping with Shepherd Village policies and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Flexibility in shifts/hours of work a must
- Our ideal candidate possesses the following QUALIFICATIONS;
- Completed or enrolled in an approved Food Service Worker certificate program required
- Grade 12 diploma required
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job including;* *
- Lifting, carrying and transporting (pushing & pulling) heavy loads up-to 25lbs (12kg)**
- Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, turning & twisting**
- Standing and crouching for prolonged periods of time**
- Previous pot washing and/or kitchen utility experience an asset
