Reports to: Food Services Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The dishwasher is responsible for the maintenance of the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, the washing and storage of kitchen and dining room equipment and utensils. Emptying of garbage cans and removal of recycling.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Grade 12 minimum
- Recent Safe Food Handlers certificate issued by Public Health
Background:
Minimum of three years’ experience preferred
Personal Requirements:
- Work as part of a team
- Capable of adapting to different situations and change Keen interest in working with seniors
FUNCTIONS:
- Helps cook and servers collect and strip trays and tables for washing, clean and reset tables for next sitting; Loads, operates and empties dishwasher. Puts dishes away;
- Damp mops floors;
- Cleans other kitchen equipment such as blenders, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.;
- Maintains general cleanliness of the dry goods storage area, walk-in fridge and freezer, receiving area. By correct sweeping and mopping of floors, washing of walls and racks;
- Performs all duties in a clean and sanitary manner;
- Ensures that adequate standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in food storage, and food service; Ensures availability and maintenance of dietary supplies and equipment and submits requisitions as necessary
