We are seeking to hire four (4) Permanent Part-Time Client Assists with Medication to join our team. Qualified Continuing Care Assistants with experience dispensing medications may apply.

We are looking for mature and reliable individuals who have experience working with seniors and providing quality caring service. The ideal candidate works well independently and is someone with diabetes management experience with good assessment, communication and documentation skills.

We are offering 7.5 hour shifts which include day, evening and night shifts. Hours include weekends and holidays.  Guaranteed 37.5 hours biweekly. Wages are per the collective agreement ($17.96 per hour, plus benefits).Melville Heights

• Serves meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;
• Assists in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.;
• Sets and clears dining tables and delivers tray service as required;
• Assists with catering, and actively participates in special occasions and theme events;
• Assists in the orientation and training of new employees;
• Follows and complies with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures;
• Complies with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.

Overview:

The overall purpose of the Assistant Maintenance Director position is to work with the community's Maintenance Director on the overall maintenance of the community’s physical plant. This position must perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and other technical tasks, as well as ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal life-safety code regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the performance of all preventative maintenance schedules.
• Visually inspect all common areas on a daily basis to ascertain maintenance needs.
• Conduct periodic inspections of the total property systems of checking such items as roof, building façade, parking lots, grounds, signs, etc.
• Assist with repair records on all equipment and maintain an up-to-date work list for the job and ensure all work is completed in a timely and effective manner with respect to assigned priorities.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of all buildings and grounds, all security and transportation systems in accordance with Federal, State and local OSHA standards.
• Assist with the inspection of vacated apartments and complete the painting, repair and general refurbishment within the prescribed time frame
• Respond to maintenance emergencies as identified by the Maintenance Director.
• Maintain grounds and outside areas of building, including and not limited to: sprinkler system, outside lights, driveway and parking lots, in a clean and working condition.
• Continuing education regarding maintenance methods, chemicals and standards.
• Other duties as assigned

Keeps records of financial transactions for nursing facility, using calculator and computer. Summarizes details in ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger, using calculator or computer. Reconciles and balances accounts. May compile reports to show statistics, such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss and other items pertinent to operation of facility business. May calculate employee wages from records or time cards and prepare information for payroll. May compute, type and mail monthly statements to customers. May be designated according to kind of records of financial transactions kept, such as Accounts-Receivable Bookkeeper and Accounts-Payable Bookkeeper.

Supervision:

Under supervision of facility administrator or office manager

Critical Functions:

Full or part time as needed by facility. Bookkeeper to assure smooth and efficient operations within the facility business office. Ability to handle secretarial / bookkeeping tasks of some complexity and variety in an independent and responsible manner. Ability to work accurately and efficiently with attention to detail while following established protocol. Ability to utilize computer and learn required software as designated by company protocol. Must have communication skills to interact with residents, resident family members and staff in a professional manner.
