The Activity Director leads the Activities program for the community. The Activities program should encompass activities that require the use of all five senses for the residents. The Activity Director designs and executes the program, in consultation with the Executive Director and other community leaders. The Activity Director works closely with the Resident Care Director to document any changes in behavior or condition.

Responsibilities:

• Plans, develops, and prepares a variety of exercise, social, recreational and educational events.
• Schedules all transportation as well as medical transportation for residents.
• Develops, writes, and circulates the community monthly and weekly newsletter.
• Assists with move-in process by providing information and guidance to new residents.
• Maintains knowledge of communities, services, and events in the area and incorporates into activity schedule as appropriate.
• Establishes a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Attends regularly scheduled department head meetings.
• Promotes teamwork and positive attitude among the staff and monitors/attends activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Continually evaluates the quality and consistency of activities for residents and makes adjustments, corrections, and changes as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned

Overview:

The Dining Services Aide assists the Dining Services Coordinator in the creation and execution of the signature dining services program at the community. He or she provides friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our residents. Each Dining Services Aide’s primary objective is to exhibit the core values of Commonwealth Assisted Living and provide a memorable dining experience for the residents.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to our residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations, and in compliance with Sanitation Code.
• Be familiar with Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point {HACCP}, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System {WHMIS}.
• Responsible for ensuring a clean, safe working environment and maintaining this responsibility by safe work habits, using correct hand washing techniques and routine cleaning.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of the special needs of the residents.
• Practice safe usage of all equipment within the department and the ability to clean, sanitize and maintain the equipment as outlined in the cleaning schedules.
• Prepare the dining rooms daily:  set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
• Upon receiving stock, put it away following the procedures as required.
• Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is not available {ex: power failure}.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Executive Chef/Manager, Food Services.
• Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:
